苍天如圆盖，
陆地似棋局；
世人黑白分，
往来争荣辱：
荣者自安安，
辱者定碌碌。

南阳有隐居，
高眠卧不足
（Kongming）

The sky is but a round curvature of blue
The earth is but a chess board
Worldly people are divided among the "white" and "black"
Regardless of time they struggle for glory and fame
The prosperous (winner) may have their own peace
The commons (the loser) may have their toils and weariness

There in Nanyang dwells a hermit
Who lives his peaceful seclusion
